South Point Seeing Growth
South Point, Ohio -- Standing at the boat ramp in South Point, Ohio, you can see each state of the Tri-State area.
And after coming down from the viewing station into South Point, there still are sights awaiting.
Home to about 3,885 people, South Point keeps a friendly environment among residents through gatherings at the South Point Community Center.
South Point Park is known for music concerts that usually form around the gazebo. Church groups and other organizations come together there to have fellowship.
The South Point School District is looking forward to receiving a new high school, and a new middle and elementary school are expected to follow.
Burlington, an unincorporated area adjacent to South Point with a population of about 2,794, often is characterized as being a part of South Point.
Burlington holds the shopping center area, including a Lowe's, Wal-Mart and Petland, but South Point has a business area that officials plan to fill. Engines Inc., a company dealing with railroad cars; Total Safety, complete with road safety items; and M Service/Mid Valley Supply which services gasoline pumps and sells petroleum dispensers, currently are located in the Industrial Park.
