Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
The Greater Huntington area reflects the community of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The families of so many cultures have sustained and been sustained by the Marshall University, the railroad, the medical and tourism industry, and small businesses in Huntington for decades. More importantly, they have supported one another in schools, churches, and events that have brought them together in support of their community. It is this spirit of support and interdependence that is the focus of this website. It is the recognition and discovery of what being part of Huntington means to us. It is a special opportunity to be together to celebrate what we have been and how we dream to be as friends, neighbors, and community members.
Now is the time and opportunity to draw our citizens closer together, to reintroduce themselves to their neighbors, to welcome our new neighbors, and re-visit what it means to belong to the Greater Huntington community.

• Facilitating the development of a community vision for progress and shepherding citizen projects so that they are moving in the direction of that shared vision.
• Connecting citizens with resources, tools and each other so that community projects are completed collaboratively and efficiently while building social capital.
• Ensuring that there is a holistic approach to economic development that emphasizes input and participation by citizens.
• Providing a “think tank” atmosphere for exploring and sharing new ideas and promoting their application in our community.
